Moving is a BIG Job

Unless you get rid of everything that you own and start over at your new home, moving calls for a tremendous quantity of work. Whenever you determine it’s time to move, there will be a lot of tasks to ensure your move proceeds as smoothly as possible. You have to balance budgeting, house hunting, selecing a moving company in Oklahoma City, packing, notifying everyone you know, transferring or setting up utilities, unpacking, securing new doctors, registering the children for school and so on. With all those things to get finished in a certain amount of time, it would be more shocking if moving wasn’t a big undertaking. Nonetheless, we have a tendency to make moving more difficult and laborious than it needs to be. And so, we’re here to mention a couple ways that we frequently make moving more compliated than it should be.

1) Poor Planning

Put together a detailed plan for your move, one that has everything you need to accomplish and include a schedule with deadlines. Make sure and assign someone to each and every chore.

2) Procrastination

Why pack up your belongings now when you can delay it until tomorrow, right? Wrong! When you find yourself constantly delaying things, you may be setting yourself up for a troublesome moving day. Make your moving timeline and then stay on schedule.

3) Moving Too Much

Let’s face it, the majority of people have a lot of stuff in their residences which they don’t use. Therefore, when it’s time to pack up and move, if you just assume that everything has to go with you, your move might be more expensive and take more time. Before you start packing, dedicate a bit of time to go through your belongings. Do not plan on moving items which don’t work, that you will not use and that you merely don’t need. 4) Missing Packing Deadlines

You can ask friends and relatives to help you have a yard sale or to babysit your children or pets during the times you are packing. You might consider hiring a cleaning service to take care of your old home after you move out and to also clean and sanitize your new residence before you move in. And lastly, make certain that the whole family is helping with moving related chores. Even your younger kiddos can be given age-appropriate tasks.

At some point over the moving process, it’s common to question, “Why is this so much work?”. However, when you steer clear of the pitfalls outlined above, hopefully your move will proceed as planned.
